Comment 26 December 2010 Posted by: Roger Morley I bought this album for my wife, for Christmas and, in our opinion, it really is the greatest hymn album, ever. It is a superb compilation of most of the exciting, moving and meaningful hymns from many generations that you would think of,if asked to make such a compilation. SO MANY great favourites. Before buying, I listened to the sample clips, on this site, and thought "Yes, I think my wife will quite like this". However, it's way beyond my expectations, and by far the best traditional worship CD we've ever bought. The arrangements are brilliant, with a variety of types of arrangement, which makes the album all the more enjoyable, as it doesn't get stuck in a rut anywhere throughout its fifty tracks. The instrumentation, again appropriately variable to suit each hymn, is excellent, and superbly performed, and the singing is equally magnificent. My only (slight) disappointment, particularly having sung the praises of the performers, is that I cam find no information about who created these wonderful recordings, other than the arrangers and technicians. There's a lot of small print, so I apologise if this information is included, and I've missed it. Go on, for a REAL treat, BUY IT!!!!! If these are your kind of hymns, you won't be disappointed.
